Built for the coast

See what coastal conditions leave behind.

Coastal conditions leave more than surface dirt. Salt-laden air, strong UV, wind-blown sand, mineral deposits and baked-on contaminants can dull, stain or degrade exterior surfaces over time—especially around chips, panel seams and unprotected areas.

Regularly maintained

Regular washing and protection help reduce buildup and make contamination easier to remove before it bonds or etches.

What our detailing addresses
Careful exterior maintenance removes ordinary contamination, then a gloss finish is applied.
Limitation
Existing paint defects or damage are assessed separately.
  • Salt and humidity. Salt carried in coastal air settles on paint, glass, wheels, arches and panel gaps, and can hold moisture where paint is already chipped or scratched.
  • Water-spot etching. Mineral-containing water dries into visible rings that heat and strong sun can bond to, or etch into, the clear coat.
  • Wind-blown sand. Fine grit collects around wheel arches, lower panels, sills and trim, and can mark paint if it is wiped across a dry panel.
  • UV degradation. Long-term ultraviolet exposure can oxidise the clear coat, reduce gloss and gradually fade upward-facing paint.
  • Bird droppings and sap. These bond to warm paint and, left in strong sun, may stain or etch the clear coat.

Illustrative condition examples only. The treatment required depends on the vehicle’s existing paint and surface condition. Estate Motor Care is not affiliated with or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer.
