How we handle your details

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect what you enter in the quote form: your name, email address, mobile number, service location or suburb, site access, vehicle make, model and year, the service you’re interested in, the vehicle category and condition, an optional preferred appointment date and any notes. If you phone, email or message us on Instagram, we receive whatever you choose to send. We don’t collect information about you from anywhere else.

Photos of your vehicle

To quote accurately, we may ask you for photos of your car before we confirm a price. We keep those with your enquiry and delete them when they’re no longer needed. We sometimes photograph vehicles before and after a detail for our own records. We’ll only use a photo of your car on our website or social media with your permission, and we won’t show number plates, your address or anything else that identifies you.

Why we collect it

We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and carry out your appointment, and invoice you for the work. We don’t sell or share your details for marketing, and we won’t add you to a mailing list without asking you first.

Who can see it

Enquiries come directly to Estate Motor Care and are handled by Alastair Walker. A small number of trusted services process details on our behalf: Squarespace hosts this website and delivers form submissions, and Google Workspace handles our email. If you pay by card through an invoice or pay link, the payment is processed by the payment provider behind it — we never see or store your full card details. Bank transfers simply appear on our bank statement like any other payment. Squarespace and Google store data on servers outside Australia, mainly in the United States, and each has its own privacy policy. We don’t otherwise disclose your details to anyone unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, so we can pick up where we left off if you book again, and then delete them. Invoices and booking records are kept for five years, as Australian tax law requires.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies set by Squarespace to make the site work and, where enabled, to measure visits so we can see which pages are useful. These don’t identify you personally. We don’t run advertising trackers or third-party analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.

Your choices

You can ask what details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them at any time — email enquiries@estatemotorcare.com.au or call 0458 400 357 and we’ll usually respond within a few days. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
